A native of Miami, Florida, Shannon earned his MFA in 2007 from San Francisco's Academy of Art University.
Shannon uses both natural and artificial light where appropriate to artistically capture indoor and outdoor spaces. His goal is to go beyond documenting a space to craft a story or fantasy about a property.
In addition to his commercial photography business, Shannon is an adjunct professor of photography. He has also taught photography for the Smithsonian Resident Associates and Maine Media Workshops. He brings to his work an authoritative sense of space, form, texture and light.
When Shannon isn't photographing commercially, he is always working on personal projects, the latest being a series of landscapes of a commercial vegetable farm in Great Falls, Virginia.
